Module Recycling

Large scale solar installations started in 2008 and many of these installations will be ready for removal by the end of this decade. It is also possible that a large portion of these may be removed for re-powering earlier. Global Solar module installation has crossed 100GW annually in 2019 and is growing. In the next 20 years a large quantum of these panels will need to be recycled in an environmentally safe manner.

The safe removal, recycling and use of all the input materials in a circular economy is key for the sustainable development of the renewable energy business.

Poseidon Solar has in association with Sofies and DOEN Foundation built a pilot plant for solar panel recycling at its facility in Chennai.
